This multifaceted presentation of the Daimler Art Collection concentrates on Highlights from the Collection with around 100 works spanning nearly 10 decades – from Oskar Schlemmer, and other characteristic figures of South German art, through to contemporary and international artists like Natalia Stachon, Guy Tillim, Clément Cogitore and Iman Issa; from classical Modernism through to international contemporary art; from painting and drawing via photography to Installation and Video Art.
The Art Collection started in 1977. Since then the holdings have grown to about 2,000 works by about 700 German and international artists. The Collection represents an important spectrum of major 20th century art developments and pictorial ideas in the field of Abstraction mainly, right down to the present day. It also contains about 30 sculptures and commissioned works, some realized in co-operation with the artists for company sites and also for public places.
